Two fees stacked, not one
The detail people miss on Linktree is that the platform fee and the processing fee are separate. On the Free plan a $50 digital product costs you 12% to Linktree plus 2.9% + $0.30 to Stripe - about $7.75 in total, leaving $42.25.
On Pro at $15/month the platform fee drops to 9%, so the same sale leaves $43.75 after fees, plus the subscription. Only Premium at $35/month gets you to Stripe's rate alone.
xoxo.bio charges $27/month and never takes a percentage, so that $50 sale leaves $48.25 regardless of plan. At 20 sales a month the difference between xoxo.bio Creator and Linktree Pro is roughly $50 a month in your favour; at 100 sales it is around $400.
What each platform is actually for
Linktree's core job is routing attention: a clean list of links, solid analytics, sponsored and affiliate link tooling, and a Shops feature for affiliate commerce. Digital products and Kajabi-powered courses sit on top of that.
